Tencent’s Level Infinite is starting to roll out Gangstar Mirage City in selected regions today, August 20.
The open world game is pitched as a mix of GTA and Cyberpunk, and is an officially-licensed continuation of Gameloft’s long-running Gangstar series, now published by Tencent-owned label Level Infinite. According to the
pre-registration site
, it will be playable only in Latin America, MENA, South Asia, Eastern and Central Europe and Southeast Asia on iOS and Android from today. There’s no word yet on a worldwide launch.
The open-world crime RPG has players building a criminal empire in the fictional Mirage City through story missions, gang turf battles and business ventures, with a heavier multiplayer focus than earlier Gangstar entries.
The game previously surfaced under the working title Codename Crime-Vice Open World, first revealed by Tencent Games in October 2024, and has been through staged regional testing since – including the Philippines, Indonesia, Canada and the US – ahead of this wider launch.
With the GTA 6 launch looming large over the entire games business,
we’ve had a look at Rockstar’s own games and the wider ‘GTA-alike’ category on mobile
to see which other studios are trying to capitalise on the hype coming this November.
