Supercell is a long-term investor and partner to fellow Finnish firm Metacore. In January 2023, Metacore acquired failed Supercell soft launch game Everdale and attempted to rework and relaunch the game under its ownership, but killed the game in September 2024.

announced plans to buy the rest of Metacore in May
, with CEO Ilkka Paananen saying he believes the game’s “best days are still ahead”.
Metacore has since
cut 159 staff at its Helsinki HQ
